“From our first contact with Tom he met us at the times arranged for a quote and to show samples of the mortar. He was always willing to give advice on anything related to  bricks, stone etc. It was obvious from our first meetings that he was passionate about the natural materials of stone and lime mortar that he works with.

He is very conscientious and works to a high standard, the attention to detail was of particular note. He was always cheerful and willing to work around us when necessary. I would highly recommend Tom to anyone wanting their property re-pointed with lime mortar.

Our house once again looks loved and cared for following the hard work and dedication from Tom.”

"The pointing on our 1870’s stone cottage was in need of repair, and so we searched for someone who would be able to repoint the cottage sympathetically, using lime mortar.

We contacted a couple of companies to discuss the project, but Tom’s knowledge and passion for working with and preserving old buildings using traditional materials was outstanding. He explained the process thoroughly, and even did some mortar samples so we could compare different colour mortars and choose one that fitted best with the stonework. He also organised the whole process, including scaffolding, and worked methodically, completing the work on schedule and to a fantastic standard. He even swept up and cleaned the windows before he finished!

The result is superb, and we have had many comments from neighbours about how much better the cottage looks. I'd have no hesitation in recommending Tom's work."

We had tried to have the cottage re-pointed for several years but sadly no one wished to undertake the task.  Numerous builders offered to supply a quote none ever showed up.

We wanted the cottage to be re-pointed with a traditional “Lime Mortar” rather than looking like a large grey blob of Blue Lias and grey cement.

Tom’s advert  was spotted in the parish magazine and after discussing some mortar colour samples, the rest as they say is history. Supplied with a guarantee, we are very satisfied with Tom’s work and would recommend him without hesitation.
